Verses Using the Term Born Again
Here are my top seven Bible verses nigh existence built-in again.
John 3:3 "Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to yous, unless 1 is built-in again he cannot encounter the kingdom of God."
Nicodemus had come to Jesus at night to speak with Him about salvation saying "Rabbi, we know that you lot are a teacher come up from God, for no one can do these signs that you exercise unless God is with him" (John 3:2) but instead of Jesus receiving this compliment, He directed Nicodemus' attending to the fact that you must be born once more to even see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). The words "born again" indicates that it is a work of God every bit the Greek says "born from to a higher place" and then every child of God is born from above, by God's volition, and so that we can accept no credit for ourselves and boast or brag about it (Eph two:8-9).
Offset Peter i:22-23 "Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, dearest one some other earnestly from a pure middle, since you accept been born again, non of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding discussion of God."
The Apostle Peter also refers to the phrase born over again and pinpoints the source; information technology was out of an imperishable seed which came by "the living and abiding give-and-take of God" showing once again that our new birth comes only by God's edict and this included the means of the Word of God or Scripture. This shows that the power of salvation is the very power of God that leads to salvation and it'southward found in the gospel (Rom 1:16).
Colossians 2:13 "And you lot, who were expressionless in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses."
What does Paul mean that we were dead in our trespasses? He is saying that "having been buried with him in baptism, in which you lot were as well raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead" and then nosotros needed a resurrection too. We had to be raised in Christ by God's making us alive and this meant we had to have our sins taken away.
John 3:6-vii "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to yous, 'You must exist born once more."
Jesus is still speaking to Nicodemus and trying to prove him that we must be built-in of the Spirit; the Holy Spirit, as Jesus used the discussion "Spirit" as a proper noun, meaning that the Spirit is a Person and is the Third fellow member of the Trinity. Anybody is born of the mankind but simply those who are God'south are born of the Spirit. Likewise, this was not just spoken to Nicodemus because Jesus said "Y'all must be born once more" and the "y'all" is plural so Jesus is telling Nicodemus and all who read this passage that all of us must be born again before we can enter the kingdom of heaven.
First Peter i:2-four "Blest exist the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his swell mercy, he has caused us to be born over again to a living promise through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you."
Over again the Apostle Peter refers to the tern "built-in again" and shows that God has "caused us to be built-in over again" meaning information technology was not our own doing. God lonely saves and then He alone deserves the glory. This inheritance, reserved for all who apologize and trust in Christ as part of the new birth, is being kept or held as a reservation for those in heaven.
Ephesians 2:v-6 "even when we were expressionless in our trespasses, made us live together with Christ—by grace you take been saved— and raised us upward with him and seated the states with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
Again Paul writes well-nigh united states being raised from the dead from that which our trespasses had caused. We had to be "fabricated live" past God'due south divine volition. Paul writes as if this is already a washed deal as he sees us as already having been "raised upwards with him" and we are now "seated…with him in the heavenly places."
John iii:eight "The air current blows where it wishes, and yous hear its sound, just you exercise non know where it comes from or where information technology goes. And then information technology is with everyone who is built-in of the Spirit."
Jesus shows the essence of the Spirit of God, although not seen by human eyes, we tin see His event on the believer's life merely similar the invisible wind blows and y'all can see the effects and hear the sounds. Fifty-fifty though we don't "know where information technology comes from or where information technology goes" we know He is at that place. We cannot see Spirit but we can see and hear the Spirit's working and is evidence that we are God'southward own child.
Conclusion
The late Adrian Rogers once said if you're built-in one time, yous'll dice twice but if you're born twice, you'll die one time. Past dying twice, he meant a concrete and then a spiritual death (Rev 21:8) and born twice means you're physically born so spiritually born and if and then, you'll die only a physical death and at that point, yous'll receive eternal life. If yous have repented and forsaken your sin and so trusted in Christ, y'all have been born over again, from above, past God Himself. You are now a child of God but for all who refuse to humble themselves and believe they accept the wrath of God abiding on them at the nowadays time (John 3:36b) but we must remember that they were "among whom nosotros all once lived in the passions of our flesh, conveying out the desires of the torso and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the residuum of mankind" (Eph ii:3), "Just God, existence rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us fifty-fifty when nosotros were dead in our trespasses, made u.s.a. alive together with Christ—past grace you accept been saved" (Eph 2:4-5).
